Signet Jewelers, the largest retailer of diamond jewelry globally, operates more than 2,800 stores across the U.S., U.K., and Canada under nine different brands. However, as technology evolved, their e-commerce presence fell behind. Each brand's website lacked consistency, user-centered design, and modern functionality. The existing digital platforms were not aligned with client expectations, offering an outdated and non-cohesive experience. Faced with these challenges, the project aimed to redesign five of the nine brand sites, focusing on enhancing user engagement and modernizing the overall online experience.
The core issue was the disjointed and outdated nature of the e-commerce sites, which suffered from inconsistent design, unfriendly navigation, and a lack of clear storytelling and content strategy. These factors resulted in poor user experiences and hindered the effectiveness of the digital platforms in driving engagement and sales. The objective was to overhaul the outdated experience by updating design patterns, integrating user testing, and applying best practices to create a more user-centric and streamlined journey across the brands' websites.
