Design Systems Accessibility UX/UI

As a Design Systems Designer at Xbox, I helped architect and evolve a robust design system supporting Gaming AI experiences across Xbox, PC, and mobile. The work centered on scaling a single, coherent visual and functional language across a vast ecosystem of device surfaces — while raising the bar on accessibility as a first-class principle rather than an afterthought. The challenge was to build a system flexible enough to adapt across countless surfaces and densities, yet disciplined enough to guarantee consistency, and to align emerging Gaming AI patterns with the core Xbox Design System (XDS) without fracturing the broader user journey.

Supporting Gaming AI across such a broad surface area meant reconciling responsiveness, density, and accessibility at a scale few systems demand. I focused on engineering a highly responsive framework spanning multiple breakpoints and density modes, an accessibility-first foundation featuring an extensive suite of high-contrast modes, and comprehensive component libraries and design tokens that streamlined cross-functional handoffs and reduced UI inconsistencies. By formalizing system governance and documentation protocols, we established a single source of truth that accelerated feature delivery and fostered adoption across multiple global product teams.
